Wolves 1-1 Newcastle: Saint-Maximin rescues the Magpies at Molineux

On Sunday, Wolves and Newcastle were held to a 1-1 draw at Molineux Stadium. Wolves arrived at the match looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. Newcastle secured a point against Manchester City in their previous match. As the table looks today, Wolves are currently 19th with 2 points from 4 matches, while Newcastle sit in 7th, with 6 points from 4.

Wolves started the match well, when Ruben Neves gave Wolves the lead at the 38 minute mark, saw out the first half 1-0.

Newcastle took the initiative in the second half, thanks to a goal from Allan Saint-Maximin just before the final whistle, levelled the final score at 1-1 draw.

Substitutions for Wolves included Daniel Podence, Hee-chan Hwang and Leander Dendoncker for Goncalo Guedes, Pedro Neto and Joao Moutinho, repectively. Newcastle brought on Matt Targett, Ryan Fraser, Elliot Anderson, Jacob Murphy and Matt Ritchie, to replace Dan Burn, Chris Wood, Joseph Willock, Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin.

There were bookings for Nelson Semedo and Pedro Neto from Wolves, and Fabian Schar, for Newcastle.

Newcastle and Wolves will next play away to Liverpool and Bournemouth respectively.
