Nottingham Forest banked all three points against the Crystal Palace in a narrow 1-0 victory on Saturday, at the City Ground. Forest were aiming to improve their league standing after a 2-2 draw against Brentford. Palace were coming from consecutive wins against West Ham United and Southampton. Forest and Palace sit 18th and 11th places with 13 points and 19 points respectively.

After an uneventful first half, whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Red dogs who started the second half strongly, when Morgan Gibbs-White found the net, 54 minutes in. The match ended with a 1-0 home victory.

Substitutions for Forest included Jack Colback, Sam Surridge, Lewis O’Brien and Neco Williams for Cheikhou Kouyate, Jesse Lingard, Morgan Gibbs-White and Renan Lodi, respectively. Palace brought on Joel Ward, Jean-Philippe Mateta, Will Hughes, Malcolm Ebiowei and Odsonne Edouard, to replace Tyrick Mitchell, Jordan Ayew, Nathaniel Clyne, Eberechi Eze and Cheick Oumar Doucoure.

There were bookings for Ryan Yates from Forest, and Tyrick Mitchell, Joel Ward, Marc Guehi and Jeffrey Schlupp, for Palace.

Forest will play away against Manchester United, while Palace will face Fulham at home.
