Atl. Mineiro defeated Corinthians 1-0 on Sunday at Neo Quimica Arena. Corinthians were aiming to improve their league standing following a disappointing 2-2 draw with Coritiba in their previous game. Mineiro were able to continue their winning streak after a 3-0 win against Cuiaba in their last match. Following this match, Corinthians and Mineiro are 4th (65 points) and 7th (58 points) in the league respectively, after a total of 38 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Mineiro, when Eduardo Vargas gave them the lead just before half-time to see out the first half 1-0. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the match ended 1-0.

Substitutions for Corinthians included Renato Augusto, Mateus Vital and Giovane Santana do Nascimento for Ramiro, Fausto Vera and Maycon, respectively. Mineiro brought on Ademir, Cristian Pavon, Guga and Rubens for Keno, Eduardo Vargas, Matias Zaracho and Ignacio Fernandez.

There were bookings for Fabio Santos, Maycon and Roger Guedes from Corinthians. For Mineiro, Matias Zaracho, Jemerson, Everson, Allan, Ignacio Fernandez and Eduardo Vargas saw yellow.
