Wolves were defeated at home by Arsenal at Molineux Stadium on Saturday. Wolves were looking forward to playing again after losing 3-2 to Brighton & Hove Albion in their last match. Arsenal were hoping to continue their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Chelsea and Nottingham Forest. Wolves are now in 20th place on the table and have 10 points while Arsenal sit in 1st with 37 points after 16 matches.

Following a goalless first half, whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Arsenal who started the second half strongly, when Martin Odegaard found the net, 54 minutes in. The Gunners then scored once more and increased their advantage thanks to a 2nd effort from Martin Odegaard on the 75 minute mark to make it 2-0.

Substitutions for Wolves included Dexter Lembikisa, Daniel Podence and Matheus Nunes for Nelson Semedo, Joao Moutinho and Toti Gomes, respectively. Arsenal brought on Fabio Vieira, Reiss Nelson, Mohamed Elneny and Cedric Soares, to replace Granit Xhaka, Bukayo Saka, Fabio Vieira and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

There were bookings for Toti Gomes, Boubacar Traore and Hugo Bueno from Wolves. For Arsenal, Thomas Partey and Gabriel Magalhaes saw yellow.

Wolves will next travel to Everton, while Arsenal will face West Ham United at home.
