Wolves 0-3 Man City: Citizens cruise to away win at goal-shy Wolves

Manchester City on a 3-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday at Molineux Stadium. Wolves had been hopeful of continuing their good run, following a 1-0 victory against Southampton. Man City, meanwhile, had secured a point against Aston Villa in their previous match. Wolves are now in 16th place on the table and have 6 points while Man City sit in 1st with 17 points after 8 matches.

Man City started the first half well, with an early goal from Jack Grealish in the 1st minute. However they weren’t finished yet and Erling Haaland made it 2-0, 16 minutes in to see out the first half 2-0.

Cityzens continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, with a goal from Phil Foden, 69 minutes in. The match ended with a 3-0 victory for Man City.

Substitutions for Wolves included Boubacar Traore, Hee-chan Hwang, Nelson Semedo and Chem Campbell for Daniel Podence, Goncalo Guedes, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Pedro Neto, respectively. Man City brought on Julian Alvarez, Ilkay Gundogan, Riyad Mahrez, Cole Palmer and Sergio Gomez, to replace Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and Rodri.

The referee booked Matheus Nunes and Ruben Neves from Wolves and Nathan Collins went off with a red card, while Man City’s Rodri also received a yellow.

Wolves will next play West Ham United away, with Man City facing Manchester United at home.
