Wolves 2 – Leeds 3: The Whites leave Molineux Stadium with all 3 points

Wolves were defeated at home by Leeds United at Molineux Stadium on Friday. Both Wolves and Leeds arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Wolves were looking to continue their run after winning their previous two games in the competition. The most recent was against the Everton away (1-0), the other to Watford at home (4-0). Leeds, on the other hand, were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-1 win against Norwich City in their last match. As the table looks today, Wolves are in 8th place, with 46 points from 30 matches, while Leeds sit in 16th, with 26 points from 30.
Wolves dominated the first half, thanks to Jonny Castro finding the net, 26 minutes in. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Trincao just before half-time to see out the first half 2-0.
Leeds continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Jack Harrison at the 63 minute mark. The momentum was now with The Whites, who then scored again through a goal from Rodrigo Moreno at the 66 minute mark to establish a 2-2. However they weren’t finished yet and Luke Ayling made it 3-2 just before the final whistle to make it 3-2.
For Wolves, Trincao, Hee-chan Hwang, Chiquinho and Fabio Silva, came on for Ruben Neves, Daniel Podence, Leander Dendoncker and Jonny Castro. Leeds brought on Sam Greenwood, Robin Koch, Charlie Cresswell and Kristoffer Klaesson, to replace Patrick Bamford, Diego Llorente, Mateusz Klich and Illan Meslier.
The referee booked Willy Boly and Raul Jimenez from Wolves and Raul Jimenez (2 yellow cards) went off with a red card, while Leeds’ Pascal Struijk, Rodrigo Moreno, Charlie Cresswell and Adam Forshaw also received a yellow.
Leeds and Wolves will next play at home to Southampton and Aston Villa respectively.
