The Hammers 2 – Everton 1: Points secure for The Irons at London Stadium

On Sunday, Everton suffer an away defeat to West Ham United at London Stadium. The Hammers were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. Everton, on the other hand, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 1-0 victory against Newcastle United. As things stand, The Hammers are in 5th place on the table and has 51 points while Everton sit in 17th with 25 points after 31 matches.

The Hammers started the first half well, thanks to Aaron Cresswell giving The Irons the lead, 32 minutes in, finishing the first half 1-0.

The Toffees started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with Mason Holgate finding the net, 53 minutes in. In the end though, The Hammers, 58 minutes in took the victory following a Jarrod Bowen goal, leaving the final score at 2-1.

For The Hammers, Mark Noble and Andriy Yarmolenko, came on for Jarrod Bowen and Said Benrahma. Everton brought on Anthony Gordon, to replace Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The referee booked Aaron Cresswell from The Hammers. Everton had the worst of it though, with Michael Keane and Mason Holgate seeing yellow, and Michael Keane (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

The Hammers will next travel to Brentford, while Everton will face Manchester United at home.
