Watford were defeated at home by Leeds United at Vicarage Road on Saturday. Watford were looking forward to meeting again, following a previous defeat to Liverpool. Leeds, on the other hand, are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. Following today’s result, Watford and Leeds currently occupy 19th and 16th spots in the table, with 22 points and 33 points respectively after 32 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Leeds, with Raphinha opening the rout, 21 minutes in to see out the first half 0-1.

The Whites continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Rodrigo Moreno, 73 minutes in. Leeds then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Jack Harrison just before the final whistle to make it 3-0.

Both coaches used the full entitlement. For Watford, Emmanuel Dennis, Edo Kayembe and Joshua King, came on for Cucho Hernandez, Juraj Kucka and Joao Pedro, Leeds brought on Kalvin Phillips, Sam Greenwood and Crysencio Summerville to replace Mateusz Klich, Daniel James and Raphinha.

The referee booked Imran Louza and Moussa Sissoko for Watford.

Watford next face Brentford and Leeds are at home to Chelsea.
