Spurs 1-2 Liverpool: Salah double lifts Liverpool past the Lilywhites

Spurs were defeated at home by Liverpool at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday. Spurs were looking to pick up points, following a 3-2 victory against Bournemouth, while Liverpool had lost their previous match against Leeds United. Spurs and Liverpool sit 4th, (26 points) and 8th, (19 points), in the table respectively, after 15 matches.

Liverpool started strongly in the first half, when Mohamed Salah gave them the lead, 11 minutes in. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a second effort from Mohamed Salah just before half-time, to take a 2-0 lead into half time.

The Lilywhites took the lead in the second half, when Harry Kane found the net, 70 minutes in, leaving the final score at 2-1.

Substitutions for Spurs included Matt Doherty, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Moura for Emerson, Ryan Sessegnon and Yves Bissouma, respectively. Liverpool brought on Curtis Jones, Jordan Henderson, Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, to replace Roberto Firmino, Harvey Elliott, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah.

Spurs next face Leeds United while Liverpool are at home to Southampton.
