Soton 2 – Norwich 0: The Saints take all 3 points at St. Mary’s Stadium

On Friday, Norwich City suffer an away defeat to Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium. Soton were looking to continue their run after winning last match. Norwich were beaten 3-1 in the previous match against Liverpool. As the table looks today, Soton and Norwich sit 9th, (35 points) and 20th, (17 points), in the league respectively, after 27 matches.
Soton started the first half well, thanks to Che Adams giving The Saints the lead at the 36 minute mark. They then managed to see out the first half 1-0.
Soton continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Oriol Romeu just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 2-0.
Both teams used all available substitutes. For Soton, Jack Stephens, Shane Long and Moussa Djenepo, came on for Armando Broja, Che Adams and Stuart Armstrong, Norwich brought on Lukas Rupp, Pierre Lees-Melou and Kieran Dowell, to replace Mathias Normann, Milot Rashica and Billy Gilmour.
There were bookings for Mohammed Salisu from Soton. For Norwich, Teemu Pukki and Brandon Williams saw yellow.
Soton will next travel to Aston Villa, while Norwich will face Brentford at home.
