Manchester United eased past Southampton in a 1-0 victory on Saturday at St. Mary’s Stadium. Both teams arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Soton were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run after winning last match while Man U were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-1 win against Liverpool in their last match. As it stands, Soton are in 11th place, with 4 points from 4 matches, while Man U sit in 14th, with 3 points from 4.

After an uneventful first half, The Red Devils certainly were out of the blocks quickly in the second half, thanks to a goal from Bruno Fernandes, 55 minutes in, which sealed the victory for the visitors.

Substitutions for Soton included Stuart Armstrong, Sekou Mara, Romain Perraud and Lyanco for Mohamed Elyounoussi, Adam Armstrong, Moussa Djenepo and Joe Aribo, repectively. Man U brought on Cristiano Ronaldo, Casemiro and Fred, to replace Jadon Sancho, Anthony Elanga and Christian Eriksen.

The referee booked Diogo Dalot, Scott Mctominay and Fred for Man U.

Soton will next play Chelsea at home, with Man U facing Leicester City away.
