Forest 0-2 Spurs: Kane on the mark as Lilywhites claim points at Forest

Nottingham Forest fell to a home defeat at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur at City Ground on Sunday. Forest wanted to continue adding points following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Everton in their previous game while Spurs were coming off the back of a 1-0 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers. After today’s result, Forest are currently 14th with 4 points from 4 matches, while Spurs sit in 3rd, with 10 points from 4.

Spurs found the net first, with an early goal from Harry Kane in the 5th minute. The score at half time was 1-0.

The Lilywhites continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Harry Kane found the net again, 81 minutes in. They managed to see the match out with a clean sheet and a final score of 2-0.

Substitutions for Forest included Emmanuel Dennis, Remo Freuler, Cheikhou Kouyate, Taiwo Awoniyi and Sam Surridge for Jesse Lingard, Lewis O’Brien, Ryan Yates, Steve Cook and Brennan Johnson, repectively. Spurs replaced Ryan Sessegnon, Richarlison, Yves Bissouma and Djed Spence with Ivan Perisic, Heung Min Son, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur.

There were bookings for Steve Cook, Joe Worrall, Scott McKenna, Lewis O’Brien, Cheikhou Kouyate and Brennan Johnson from Forest, and Harry Kane, for Spurs.

Spurs and Forest will next play away to West Ham United and Manchester City respectively.
