Forest 2-3 Fulham: The Cottagers heap more pressure on Forest

Forest were defeated at home by Fulham at the City Ground on Friday. Both sides came from defeats in their previous league games. Forest were hoping to get something from this game after losing their last match 3-2 to Bournemouth. Fulham were beaten 2-1 in their previous match against Tottenham Hotspur. Forest are currently 19th with 4 points from 8 matches, while Fulham sit in 6th, with 11 points from 8.

Forest started the first half well, thanks to a goal from Taiwo Awoniyi in the 11th minute to see them go in at half time 1-0 up.

Fulham started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, when Tosin Adarabioyo found the net, 54 minutes in. Fulham looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Joao Palhinha, 57 minutes in to establish a 2-1. The momentum was again with The Cottagers, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Harrison Reed on the 60 minute mark to establish a 3-1 result. Red dogs in turn, then responded on the 77 minute mark, grabbing the lead with an effort from Lewis O’Brien. When the final whistle blew, the result was 3-2 to Fulham.

Substitutions for Forest included Joe Worrall, Jesse Lingard, Lewis O’Brien, Sam Surridge and Emmanuel Dennis for Willy Boly, Steve Cook, Remo Freuler, Taiwo Awoniyi and Neco Williams, respectively. Fulham brought on Daniel James, Tom Cairney, Neeskens Kebano and Carlos Vinicius, to replace Willian, Andreas Pereira, Aleksandar Mitrovic and Bobby Reid.

There were bookings for Steve Cook and Willy Boly from Forest, and Issa Diop, Joao Palhinha, Kenny Tete and Andreas Pereira, for Fulham.

Forest will next play Leicester City away, with Fulham facing Newcastle United at home.
