Forest 2-3 Bournemouth: Cherries deliver Forest a hammer blow

Bournemouth’s 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday, was hard fought at the City Ground. Forest were looking forward to playing again after losing 6-0 to Manchester City in their last match. Bournemouth, meanwhile, had managed to pick up a point in their matchup with Wolverhampton Wanderers. Forest are now in 18th place, with 4 points from 6 matches, while Bournemouth sit in 13th, with 7 points from 6.

Red dogs started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Cheikhou Kouyate found the net, 33 minutes in. Forest then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a penalty goal from Brennan Johnson just before half-time, finishing the first half 2-0.

The Cherries started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, when Philip Billing found the net, 51 minutes in. The momentum was again with Bournemouth, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Dominic Solanke in the 63rd minute to establish a 2-2 result. Bournemouth then scored again and turned the match thanks to a goal from Jaidon Anthony just before the full time to make it 3-2.

Substitutions for Forest included Taiwo Awoniyi, Jack Colback and Emmanuel Dennis for Jesse Lingard, Cheikhou Kouyate and Brennan Johnson, respectively. Bournemouth brought on Ryan Fredericks, Jaidon Anthony, Kieffer Moore and Jack Stacey for Jordan Zemura, Ryan Christie, Philip Billing and Dominic Solanke.

There were bookings for Scott McKenna and Renan Lodi from Forest, and Neto, for Bournemouth.

Forest will next play Leeds United away, with Bournemouth facing Brighton & Hove Albion at home.
