Norwich 0 – Newcastle 3: Home defeat for The Canaries as The Magpies seal win

Newcastle United ease to a comfortable 3-0 win at Carrow Road. Norwich arrived at the game looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Manchester United while Newcastle were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers. As it stands, Norwich are in 20th place, with 21 points from 34 matches, while Newcastle sit in 9th, with 43 points from 34.

It was an impressive opening from The Magpies, with Joelinton opening the rout, at 35 minutes. However they weren’t finished yet and Joelinton made it 2-0 just before half-time. The score at half time was 0-2.

Newcastle started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with an early goal from Bruno Guimaraes in the 49th minute, leaving the final score at 3-0.

Both coaches used all available substitutions. For Norwich, Max Aarons, Jon Rowe and Christos Tzolis, came on for Christoph Zimmermann, Mathias Normann and Milot Rashica, Newcastle brought on Miguel Almiron, Matt Ritchie and Dwight Gayle, to replace Joelinton, Jacob Murphy and Bruno Guimaraes.

The referee booked Allan Saint-Maximin and Bruno Guimaraes for Newcastle.

Norwich will next play Aston Villa away, with Newcastle facing Liverpool at home.
