Newcastle 1-1 Bournemouth: Isak levels for Mapgies at St James’ Park

On Saturday, Newcastle and Bournemouth played out a 1-1 draw at St James’ Park. Newcastle were aiming to improve their league standing following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace in their previous game while Bournemouth were able to continue their winning streak after a 3-2 win against Nottingham Forest in their last match. both teams are now on 7 points and sit in 11th and 14th places respectively after 8 matches.

After a goalless first half, Bournemouth took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Philip Billing in the 62nd minute. In the end though, their lead was short-lived, as Alexander Isak equalised for Newcastle on the 67 minute mark. The final result, Newcastle 1, Bournemouth 1.

Substitutions for Newcastle included Jacob Murphy, Sean Longstaff and Chris Wood for Ryan Fraser, Bruno Guimaraes and Miguel Almiron, respectively. Bournemouth brought on Jaidon Anthony, Jack Stacey, Kieffer Moore and Jack Stephens, to replace Marcus Tavernier, Ryan Christie, Dominic Solanke and Philip Billing.

There were bookings for Joelinton and Dan Burn from Newcastle. For Bournemouth, Ryan Christie and Marcus Tavernier saw yellow.

Newcastle will play away against Fulham, while Bournemouth will face Brentford at home.
