Manchester United eased past Tottenham Hotspur in a 2-0 victory on Wednesday at Old Trafford. Man U were looking for a victory following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Newcastle United in their previous game whilst Spurs were hoping to continue their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Everton and Brighton & Hove Albion. Man U and Spurs currently occupy 5th and 3rd spots in the table, with 19 points and 23 points respectively after 12 matches.

Man U started strongly in the first half, when Fred gave them the lead just before half-time

The Red Devils once more applied the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, when Bruno Fernandes found the net, 69 minutes in. The match ended with a 2-0 victory for Man U.

Substitutions for Man U included Scott Mctominay, Anthony Elanga and Christian Eriksen for Antony, Jadon Sancho and Casemiro, respectively. Spurs replaced Ryan Sessegnon, Davinson Sanchez, Lucas Moura, Oliver Skipp and Djed Spence with Matt Doherty, Eric Dier, Yves Bissouma, Rodrigo Bentancur and Ivan Perisic.

The referee booked Casemiro for Man U.

Man U will play their next fixture away against Chelsea, while Spurs will face Newcastle United at home.
