Man Utd 2-1 Liverpool: Red Devils find top performance to thwart Liverpool

Liverpool on away loss to Man U at Old Trafford on Monday. Man U were looking to improve their position in the table, following a previous defeat to Brentford. Liverpool, on the other hand, secured a point against Crystal Palace in their previous match. As it stands, Man U are currently 14th with 3 points from 3 matches, while Liverpool sit in 16th, with 2 points from 3.

Man U started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to a goal from Jadon Sancho in the 16th minute to see out the first half 1-0.

The Red Devils started the second half with renewed vigour, with a goal from Marcus Rashford at the 53 minute mark. In the end though, The Reds hit back though at the 81 minute mark, with a goal from Mohamed Salah and saw the match end 2-1.

Substitutions for Man U included Anthony Martial, Fred, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Donny Van De Beek for Anthony Elanga, Jadon Sancho, Diogo Dalot, Marcus Rashford and Christian Eriksen, repectively. Liverpool brought on Fabinho, Fabio Carvalho and Kostas Tsimikas, to replace Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Andy Robertson.

There were bookings for Raphael Varane, Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes from Man U, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, for Liverpool.

Man U will next play Southampton away, with Liverpool facing Bournemouth at home.
