Man U 1 – Chelsea 1: Victory elusive at Old Trafford for both sides

On Thursday, Man U and Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford. Man U were looking to get back their winning ways after losing their last game 3-1 to Arsenal. Chelsea were coming off the back of a 1-0 win against West Ham United. After today’s result, Man U and Chelsea currently occupy 6th and 3rd spots in the table, with 55 points and 66 points respectively after 37 matches.

Following a goalless first half, Chelsea took the initiative in the second half, with Marcos Alonso finding the net at the 60 minute mark. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Cristiano Ronaldo equalised for The Red Devils at the 62 minute mark. The final result, Man U 1, Chelsea 1.

Man U brought on Juan Mata, Phil Jones and Alejandro Garnacho for Marcus Rashford, Nemanja Matic and Anthony Elanga. Chelsea brought on Christian Pulisic, Romelu Lukaku and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, to replace Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and N’Golo Kante.

The referee booked one player from Chelsea, Antonio Rudiger.

Man U will play their next fixture away against Crystal Palace, while Chelsea will face Watford at home.
