Man United 3-1 Arsenal: The Red Devils deliver decisive win at Old Trafford

On Sunday, Arsenal suffered an away defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford. Both Man U and Arsenal arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Man U were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games in the league. The most recent was against the Leicester City away (1-0), the other to Southampton away (1-0). Arsenal were hoping to continue their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Aston Villa and Fulham. Man U are now in 5th place, with 12 points from 6 matches, while Arsenal sit in 1st, with 15 points from 6.

The Red Devils dominated the first half, when Antony gave them the lead, 35 minutes in, and they saw out the first half 1-0.

The Gunners took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Bukayo Saka, at 60 minutes. However, each side looked hungry to win and Man U then found the back of the net, 66 minutes in thanks to Marcus Rashford, taking the score to 2-1. However they weren’t finished yet and Marcus Rashford made it 3-1, 75 minutes in to give a final score of 3-1.

Substitutions for Man U included Cristiano Ronaldo, Fred, Harry Maguire and Casemiro for Antony, Jadon Sancho, Lisandro Martinez and Marcus Rashford, respectively. Arsenal brought on Emile Smith-Rowe, Fabio Vieira, Edward Nketiah and Takehiro Tomiyasu, to replace Martin Odegaard, Albert Sambi Lokonga, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Ben White.

There were bookings for Scott Mctominay, Harry Maguire and Christian Eriksen from Man U, and William Saliba, Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka, for Arsenal.

Man U will next play Crystal Palace away, with Arsenal facing Everton at home.
