Man City 2 – Spurs 3: The Lilywhites, fearless, go to the Etihad Stadium and win

Man City were defeated at home by Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. Man City were looking to continue their run after winning their previous two matches in the competition. The most recent was against the Norwich City away (4-0), the other to Brentford at home (2-0) whilst Spurs were beaten 2-0 in the previous match against Wolverhampton Wanderers. As it stands, Man City and Spurs currently occupy 1st and 7th spots in the league, with 63 points and 39 points respectively after 26 matches.
Spurs started strongly in the first half, thanks to an early goal from Dejan Kulusevski in the 4th minute. However, their lead was short lived, as Ilkay Gundogan equalised for Man City at the 33 minute mark, to take a 1-1 lead into half time.
The Lilywhites continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Harry Kane finding the net in the 59th minute. However, the good fortune didn’t last for long. An equalizer from Riyad Mahrez at the 90 minute mark brought Cityzens level. Spurs in turn, then responded just before the final whistle increasing their lead with a second effort from Harry Kane and seeing the game end 3-2.
For Man City, Riyad Mahrez, came on for Raheem Sterling. Spurs replaced Lucas Moura, Matt Doherty and Davinson Sanchez with Heung Min Son, Emerson and Ryan Sessegnon.
The referee booked Pierre Hojbjerg, Cristian Romero and Hugo Lloris for Spurs.
Spurs and Man City will next play away to Leeds United and Everton respectively.
