Saturday sees League Leaders Man City, take on Spurs at the Etihad Stadium – 6:30pm GMT.

Leaders Man City are currently seven places higher than their rivals Spurs, when the two sides meet, they will sit in first and eighth positions respectively.

Winning the Premier League and securing a Champion’s League qualification is Manchester City’s focus

Another victory would be a terrific achievement, but that is what Pep Guardiola will be asking from his team, as they go into this game on the back of strong results after beating Norwich City 0-4 and Brentford 2-0

Also, League leaders Man City keep finding ways to win, having secured 16 victories in their last 18 games is astonishing this season, which is responsible for their Champion’s League qualification position. With 20 wins, 2 losses and 3 draws for a total of 63 points so far this season, they have secured the top spot in the Premier League having won 20 meetings, drawn three fixtures, and lost two matches.

Man City have won 10 meetings, drawn one game, and lost one game of their 12 League matches at home this season.

Manchester City will want to keep the pressure on their rivals as they sit at the top of the table, a win will take them to 66 points and keep their momentum going forward.

Good atacking and defensive team

Defence begins with attack and Man City have defended well as a team, borne out by conceding 14 goals in their previous matches. Every player has contributed to them delivering a solid defensive display this Premier League season. Man City will be pleased to have a good goal scoring record so far this season (61). This is largely down to the efforts of their stand-out attackers – Raheem Sterling (3), Aymeric Laporte (1), and Kevin De Bruyne (1).

Pep Guardiola could be missing up to five of their players through injury or illness for the game on Saturday.

This season’s Premier League campaign, has so far seen Tottenham Hotspur achieve 36 points

Whilst Spurs need a positive result from this fixture, they cannot afford to throw caution to the wind. Another successive defeat for The Lilywhites after losing against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton would represent a worrying sign of where they are just now.

Also, some statistics are more relevant than others they say, and three losses for Spurs seems very relevant. Their position is eighth in the League and they have 36 points, that is, 11W, 8L and 3D having won 11 games, drawn three meetings, and lost eight meetings.

Spurs’ away record is remarkable and poses a significant threat to Man City. In the 10 games they’ve played on the road this season, they have so far won four games, drawn two matches, and lost four fixtures.

Tottenham Hotspur will have 39 points if they manage to secure a victory.

Antonio Conte will be forced to make changes to the plans for his squad, as injury or illness has depleted him of four of his Spurs players.
