Man City 3 – Brighton 0: The Seagulls blown away at the Etihad Stadium

Manchester City cruises against Brighton & Hove Albion on a home win at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday. Man City arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a 2-2 draw against Liverpool while Brighton were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal. As it stands, Man City and Brighton currently occupy 1st and 10th spots in the league, with 77 points and 40 points respectively after 30 matches.
After a goalless first half, Man City certainly were out of the blocks quickly in the second half, with Riyad Mahrez finding the net at the 53 minute mark. The momentum was now with Cityzens, who then scored again through a goal from Phil Foden, at 65 minutes to establish a 2-0. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Bernardo Silva in the 82nd minute to make it 3-0.
Both managers used the full entitlement. For Man City, Ruben Dias, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus, came on for Nathan Ake, John Stones and Kevin De Bruyne, Brighton brought on Adam Webster, Jeremy Sarmiento and Neal Maupay, to replace Tariq Lamptey, Moisés Caicedo and Danny Welbeck.
The referee booked Alexis MacAllister, Adam Webster and Lewis Dunk for Brighton.
Man City will next play Wolverhampton Wanderers away, with Brighton facing Southampton at home.
