Liverpool 3 – Norwich 1: The Reds seal precious win at Anfield

Liverpool beats Norwich City 3-1 on Saturday at Anfield. Liverpool were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games against Burnley away and Leicester City at home, by 1-0 and 2-0 respectively. Norwich, on the other hand, lost 4-0 in the last match they played against Manchester City. Following today’s result, Liverpool are in 2nd place, with 57 points from 26 matches, while Norwich sit in 19th, with 17 points from 26.

After an un-eventful first half, Whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Norwich who started the second half well, thanks to an early goal from Milot Rashica in the 48th minute. However, the good fortune didn’t last for long. An equalizer from Sadio Mane at the 64 minute mark brought Liverpool level. The momentum was now with The Reds, who then scored again through a goal from Mohamed Salah at the 67 minute mark to establish a 2-1. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Luis Diaz, 81 minutes in with a final score of 3-1.

Both teams used all available substitutes. For Liverpool, Thiago, Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino, came on for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and Luis Diaz, Norwich brought on Przemyslaw Placheta, Pierre Lees-Melou and Jon Rowe, to replace Josh Sargent, Mathias Normann and Milot Rashica.

The referee booked one player from Norwich, Brandon Williams.

Next up, Liverpool are away to Arsenal, whilst Norwich will travel to face Southampton.
