Liverpool 1-0 Man City: The Reds jubilant as Salah stuns City

Liverpool enjoyed a home victory against Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday. Liverpool arrived at the match looking to pick up more points after losing 3-2 to Arsenal in their last match. Man City were coming from consecutive wins against Southampton and Manchester United. Liverpool and Man City are 12th, (10 points) and 2nd, (23 points), in the table respectively, after 11 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Liverpool piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Mohamed Salah gave them the lead on the 76 minute mark, seing the match finish 1-0.

Both coaches used the full entitlement. Substitutions for Liverpool included Darwin Nunez, Jordan Henderson, Fabio Carvalho, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kostas Tsimikas for Roberto Firmino, Fabinho, Harvey Elliott, Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota, respectively, Man City brought on Julian Alvarez, to replace Ilkay Gundogan.

There were bookings for Fabinho, Thiago and Diogo Jota from Liverpool, and Manuel Akanji, for Man City.

Liverpool will play at home against West Ham United, while Man City will face Arsenal away.
