Liverpool 3-3 Brighton: Trossard hattrick earns Brigthon a point at Anfield
Liverpool were helde ach other to a 3-3 draw by Brighton on Saturday at Anfield. Liverpool were on the hunt for more points after a scoreless draw against Everton in their previous match. Brighton were coming off the back of a 5-2 win against Leicester City. Liverpool are now in 9th place on the table and have 10 points while Brighton sit in 4th with 14 points after 9 matches.
The Seagulls dominated the first half, with an early goal from Leandro Trossard in the 4th minute. Brighton looked to have the match under control when they scored again to grab the advantage, thanks to a effort from Leandro Trossard, at 17 minutes to establish a 2-0. Liverpool in turn, then responded on the 33 minute mark, grabbing the lead with an effort from Roberto Firmino, finishing the first half 2-1.
Liverpool started the second half with renewed vigour, when Roberto Firmino found the net once more on the 54 minute mark. The Reds looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Adam Webster after 63 minutes to establish a 3-2. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Leandro Trossard equalised for Brighton on the 83 minute mark, seing the match finish 3-3.
Substitutions for Liverpool included Luis Diaz, James Milner, Harvey Elliott, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez for Fabio Carvalho, Kostas Tsimikas, Jordan Henderson, Roberto Firmino and Thiago, respectively.
