Manchester City beat Leicester City with a 1-0 victory on Saturday at the King Power Stadium. Both sides arrived on the back of wins. Leicester were keen to hang onto their position at the top of the table and extend their winning run after winning their previous two matches in the league. The most recent was against the Wolverhampton Wanderers away (4-0), the other to Leeds United at home (2-0). Man City, meanwhile, were able to continue their winning streak after a 3-1 win against Brighton & Hove Albion in their last match. Leicester are now in 17th place on the table and have 11 points while Man City sit in 1st with 29 points after 14 matches.

After an uneventful first half, Cityzens certainly were out of the blocks quickly in the second half, with an early goal from Kevin De Bruyne in the 49th minute. They managed to close the match out with a clean sheet and a well-earned of 1-0 victory.

Substitutions for Leicester included Nampalys Mendy, Kelechi Iheanacho and Patson Daka for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Jamie Vardy and Caglar Soyuncu, respectively. Man City brought on Ruben Dias and Phil Foden, to replace Manuel Akanji and Julian Alvarez.

Leicester will play their next fixture away against Everton, while Man City will face Fulham at home.
