Leicester 1 – Everton 2: The Toffees ease past The Foxes at the King Power Stadium

Everton snatched all three points from Leicester City in a 2-1 victory on Sunday, at the King Power Stadium. Leicester were looking to get back their winning ways after losing their last game 3-1 to Tottenham Hotspur. Everton were coming off the back of a 1-0 win against Chelsea. As things stand, Leicester are in 14th place on the table and has 42 points while Everton sit in 16th with 35 points after 36 matches.

The Toffees started the game well, with Vitaliy Mykolenko giving Everton the lead after only 6 minutes. However, their lead didn’t last for long, Patson Daka producing an equaliser, 11 minutes in, bringing The Foxes level. However, Everton in the 30th minute found the back of the net via a Mason Holgate goal, finishing the first half 1-2. Both teams struggled to produce anything meaningful in the second half, leaving the final score at 2-1.

Both teams used all available substitutes. For Leicester, Harvey Barnes, Jamie Vardy and Ademola Lookman, came on for Ayoze Perez, Nampalys Mendy and Patson Daka, Everton brought on Michael Keane, Jonjoe Kenny and Salomon Rondon, to replace Yerry Mina, Vitaliy Mykolenko and Demarai Gray.

The referee booked Nampalys Mendy, Daniel Amartey and Wesley Fofana for Leicester.

Leicester will play their next fixture away against Watford, while Everton will face Brentford at home.
