Leicester 2 – Palace 1: Home fans rewarded with victory at the King Power Stadium

Leicester City’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday, was hard fought at the King Power Stadium. Leicester wanted to continue adding points after a 1-1 draw against Manchester United. Palace had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 3-0 victory against Arsenal. As the table looks today, Leicester and Palace currently occupy 9th and 10th spots in the league, with 40 points and 37 points respectively after 32 matches.

The Foxes started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to Ademola Lookman giving Leicester the lead, 39 minutes in. Leicester then netted once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall just before half-time, finishing the first half 2-0.

Palace took the lead in the second half, with a goal from Wilfried Zaha in the 66th minute. The game ended with a 2-1 home victory.

Leicester brought on Kelechi Iheanacho, Harvey Barnes and Timothy Castagne for Patson Daka, Ademola Lookman and James Maddison. Palace brought on Joel Ward, James McArthur and Eberechi Eze, to replace Tyrick Mitchell, Cheikhou Kouyate and Conor Gallagher.

There were bookings for Luke Thomas from Leicester. For Palace, Tyrick Mitchell saw yellow.

Palace and Leicester will next play away to Everton and Newcastle United respectively.
