Wolverhampton Wanderers open Premier League campaign with a defeat against Leeds United. Today’s result, Leeds are 5th with 3 points from 1 match, while Wolves sit in 16th, with 0 points from 1.

Wolves started the match well, when Daniel Podence gave Wolves the lead early in the first half. However, their lead was short lived, as Rodrigo Moreno equalised for Leeds at the 24 minute mark. The score at half time was 1-1.

The Whites rallied after this and were rewarded, when Rayan Ait-Nouri found the net in the 74th minute so at full time it was 2-1 to Leeds.

Substitutions for Leeds included Mateusz Klich, Sam Greenwood, Joe Gelhardt and Crysencio Summerville for Rodrigo Moreno, Marc Roca, Patrick Bamford and Brendan Aaronson, repectively. Wolves brought on Chem Campbell for Hee-chan Hwang.

The referee booked Jack Harrison and Tyler Adams for Leeds.

In the second round of action in the Premier League Leeds will play against Southampton away and Wolves will play against Fulham at home.
