Leeds 1 – Soton 1: The Whites unable to break dead-lock with The Saints

On Saturday, Leeds and Soton were held to a 1-1 draw at Elland Road. Leeds were looking to continue their run after winning their previous two games against Wolverhampton Wanderers away and Norwich City at home, by 3-2 and 2-1 respectively. Soton lost 2-1 in the last match they played against Watford. As it stands, Leeds are in 16th place, with 30 points from 31 matches, while Soton sit in 11th, with 36 points from 31.

It was an impressive opening from Leeds, with a goal from Jack Harrison at the 29 minute mark, finalising the first half 1-0.

The Saints started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, thanks to an early goal from James Ward Prowse in the 49th minute and seeing the game end 1-1.

Both coaches used all available substitutions. For Leeds, Joe Gelhardt, Kalvin Phillips and Pascal Struijk, came on for Daniel James, Mateusz Klich and Luke Ayling, Soton brought on Stuart Armstrong, Nathan Tella and Shane Long, to replace Oriol Romeu, Che Adams and Armando Broja.

There were bookings for Luke Ayling and Liam Cooper from Leeds, and Mohamed Elyounoussi, for Soton.

Leeds will next travel to Watford, while Soton will face Chelsea at home.
