Leeds 2 – Man U 4: The Red Devils travel to Elland Road and get victory

Leeds on Sunday lost to Manchester United on a home defeat at Elland Road. Leeds were looking to get back their winning ways after losing their last game 3-0 to Everton. Man U, on the other hand, are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. Following today’s result, Leeds and Man U currently occupy 15th and 4th spots in the table, with 23 points and 43 points respectively after 26 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Man U, with Harry Maguire finding the net in the 34th minute. The Red Devils then scored once more and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Bruno Fernandes just before half-time, finishing the first half 0-2.

The Whites started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, thanks to a goal from Rodrigo Moreno, 53 minutes in. The momentum was now with Leeds, who then scored again through a goal from Raphinha at the 54 minute mark to establish a 2-2. However, each side looked hungry to win and Man U then found the back of the net at the 70 minute mark thanks to Fred, taking the score to 3-2. Man U then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Anthony Elanga just before the final whistle with a final score of 4-2.

Both coaches used the full entitlement. For Leeds, Junior Firpo, Joe Gelhardt and Raphinha, came on for Robin Koch, Diego Llorente and Jack Harrison, Man U brought on Fred, Anthony Elanga and Raphael Varane to replace Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Cristiano Ronaldo.

There were bookings for Pascal Struijk, Luke Ayling, Adam Forshaw, Raphinha, Junior Firpo and Mateusz Klich from Leeds, and Cristiano Ronaldo, Scott Mctominay and Luke Shaw, for Man U.

Leeds next face Tottenham Hotspur and Man U are at home to Watford.
