Leeds 0 – Man City 4: Home team left stunned by visiting Cityzens

Leeds were defeated at home by Manchester City at Elland Road on Saturday. Leeds wanted to continue adding points following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace in their previous game whilst Man City were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Watford and Brighton & Hove Albion. After today’s result, Leeds are in 17th place, with 34 points from 35 matches, while Man City sit in 1st, with 83 points from 35.
Man City started strongly in the first half, with Rodri opening the rout, at 13 minutes, seeing out the first half 0-1.
Man City started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with a goal from Nathan Ake, 54 minutes in. The momentum was now with Cityzens, who then scored again through a goal from Gabriel Jesus in the 78th minute to establish a 3-0. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Fernandinho just before the final whistle to make it 4-0.
Both managers made full use of their substitutions. For Leeds, Daniel James, Joe Gelhardt and Sam Greenwood, came on for Stuart Dallas, Junior Firpo and Rodrigo Moreno, Man City brought on Oleksandr Zinchenko, Bernardo Silva and Fernandinho, to replace Nathan Ake, Phil Foden and Rodri.
There were bookings for Junior Firpo from Leeds, and Jack Grealish and Joao Cancelo, for Man City.
Leeds will play their next fixture away against Arsenal, while Man City will face Newcastle United at home.
