Leeds 2-3 Fulham: The Cottagers win five-goal duel at Elland Road

Fulham strolled past Leeds United with a 3-2 win on Sunday at Elland Road. Leeds were looking to get back to winning ways after losing their last match 2-0 to Leicester City whilst Fulham were coming off the back of a 3-0 win against Aston Villa. Leeds and Fulham are 18th, (9 points) and 7th, (18 points), spots respectively, after 13 matches.

The first half of the match started favourably for The Whites, when Rodrigo Moreno found the net in the 20th minute. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Aleksandar Mitrovic equalised for Fulham on the 26 minute mark, to take a 1-1 lead into half time.

The Cottagers continued to pile on the pressure in the second period and were rewarded, with a goal from Bobby Reid on the 74 minute mark. The momentum was again with Fulham, who then scored again courtesy of a goal from Willian in the 84th minute to establish a 3-1 result. Leeds in turn, then responded just before the final whistle, grabbing the lead with an effort from Crysencio Summerville, leaving the final score at 3-2.

Substitutions for Leeds included Patrick Bamford, Crysencio Summerville, Mateusz Klich and Joe Gelhardt for Rodrigo Moreno, Luis Sinisterra, Sam Greenwood and Pascal Struijk, respectively. Fulham brought on Neeskens Kebano, Shane Duffy, Tom Cairney and Carlos Vinicius, to replace Harry Wilson, Willian, Harrison Reed and Aleksandar Mitrovic.

There were bookings for Liam Cooper from Leeds. For Fulham, Antonee Robinson saw yellow.

Leeds will next travel to Liverpool, while Fulham will face Everton at home.
