Leeds 1 – Brighton 1: Elland Road sees frustrating draw

On Sunday, Leeds and Brighton were held to a 1-1 draw at Elland Road. Leeds were looking forward to meeting again after losing their last game 2-1 to Arsenal. Brighton were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers. As the table looks today, Leeds are in 17th place on the table and has 35 points while Brighton sit in 10th with 48 points after 37 matches.

Brighton started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with a goal from Danny Welbeck at the 21 minute mark, seeing out the first half 0-1.

Leeds took the initiative in the second half, thanks to a goal from Pascal Struijk just before the final whistle. The game ended 1-1.

Both managers used the full entitlement. For Leeds, Jamie Shackleton, Pascal Struijk and Sam Greenwood, came on for Robin Koch, Junior Firpo and Mateusz Klich, Brighton brought on Adam Webster, Adam Lallana and Tariq Lamptey to replace Solly March, Moisés Caicedo and Leandro Trossard.

There were bookings for Junior Firpo, Rodrigo Moreno and Liam Cooper from Leeds, and Moisés Caicedo and Tariq Lamptey, for Brighton.

Leeds will next play Brentford away, with Brighton facing West Ham United at home.
