Fulham 2-2 Liverpool: The Cottagers impress as they hold off the Reds

Fulham plays a 2-2 draw at the beginning of a new Premier League season against Liverpool. Today’s result, leave both teams on 1 point and sitting in 3rd and 2nd positions respectively, after their first match.

Fulham dominated the first half, when Aleksandar Mitrovic gave Fulham the lead, 32 minutes in to take them into the break 1-0 up.

The Reds took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Darwin Nunez at the 64 minute mark. However, each side looked hungry to win and The Cottagers then found the back of the net, 72 minutes in thanks to Aleksandar Mitrovic, taking the score to 2-1. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Mohamed Salah equalised for Liverpool at the 80 minute mark. The final result, Fulham 2, Liverpool 2.

Substitutions for Fulham included Manor Solomon, Tom Cairney and Shane Duffy for Neeskens Kebano, Andreas Pereira and Bobby Reid, repectively. Liverpool replaced Harvey Elliott, Darwin Nunez, James Milner and Fabio Carvalho with Thiago, Roberto Firmino, Fabinho and Luis Diaz.

The referee booked Kenny Tete and Bobby Reid for Fulham.

In the second round of action in the Premier League Fulham will travel to play Wolverhampton Wanderers and Liverpool will play Crystal Palace at home.
