Fulham 3-2 Brentford: The Cottagers triumph over The Bees in goal-fest

Fulham snatched all three points from Brentford in a 3-2 victory on Saturday, at Craven Cottage. Fulham wanted to improve their league standing after a scoreless draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers in their previous match. Brentford were able to continue their winning streak after a 4-0 win against Manchester United in their last match. Following today’s result, Fulham are in 4th place in the table and have 5 points while Brentford sit in 5th with 4 points after 3 matches.

Fulham started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with an early goal from Bobby Reid in the 1st minute. The Cottagers looked to have the match under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Joao Palhinha at the 20 minute mark to establish a 2-0. However, The Bees hit back though just before halftime, with a goal from Christian Norgaard. The first half ended 2-1.

Brentford took the lead in the second half, with a goal from Ivan Toney, 71 minutes in. Fulham in turn, then responded just before the final whistle increasing their lead with an effort from Aleksandar Mitrovic and saw the match end 3-2.

Substitutions for Fulham included Kevin Mbabu, Tom Cairney and Shane Duffy for Kenny Tete, Jay Stansfield and Aleksandar Mitrovic, repectively. Brentford brought on Keane Lewis-Potter, Vitaly Janelt, Shandon Baptiste and Saman Ghoddos for Aaron Hickey, Mathias Jensen, Pelenda Da Silva and Yoane Wissa.

There were bookings for Joao Palhinha, Kenny Tete and Kevin Mbabu from Fulham. For Brentford, Pelenda Da Silva and Ben Mee saw yellow.

Fulham will next play Arsenal away, with Brentford facing Everton at home.
