Everton 0 – Wolves 1: The Toffees suffer home loss to Wolves

Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Everton with a thumping 1-0 victory on Sunday at Goodison Park. With each team arriving on the back of a league defeat, they were both keen to pick up points. Everton were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Tottenham Hotspur. Wolves were beaten 2-0 in the previous match against Crystal Palace. As the table looks today, Everton and Wolves currently occupy 17th and 7th spots in the table, with 22 points and 46 points respectively after 29 matches.

Following a goalless first half, Whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Wolves who started the second half well, with an early goal from Conor Coady in the 49th minute. The game ended with a 1-0 victory for the visitors.

For Everton, Dele Alli and Andros Townsend, came on for Vitaliy Mykolenko and Demarai Gray. Wolves replaced Hee-chan Hwang, Leander Dendoncker and Raul Jimenez for Daniel Podence, Trincao and Fabio Silva.

The referee booked Mason Holgate, Jonjoe Kenny and Ben Godfrey from Everton and Jonjoe Kenny (2 yellow cards) went off with a red card, while Wolves’ Conor Coady also received a yellow.

Everton will next travel to Watford, while Wolves will face Leeds United at home.
