Everton strolled past West Ham United with a 1-0 win on Sunday at Goodison Park. Everton were on the hunt for more points after a scoreless draw against Liverpool in their previous match, while The Hammers were beaten 2-1 in their previous match against Chelsea. Everton and The Hammers currently occupy 13th and 18th spots in the league, with 7 points and 4 points respectively after 8 matches.

After an uneventful first half, whatever was said in the dressing room at half time, seemed to have a positive effect on Everton who started the second half strongly, with a goal from Neal Maupay, at 53 minutes. The match ended with a 1-0 home victory.

Substitutions for Everton included Dwight McNeil, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Salomon Rondon for Anthony Gordon, Demarai Gray and Neal Maupay, respectively. The Hammers replaced Maxwel Cornet, Said Benrahma, Gianluca Scamacca and Emerson with Lucas Paqueta, Pablo Fornals, Michail Antonio and Aaron Cresswell.

There were bookings for Conor Coady, Anthony Gordon and Dwight McNeil from Everton, and Gianluca Scamacca, for The Hammers.

Everton will next play Southampton away, with The Hammers facing Wolverhampton Wanderers at home.
