Everton 1 – Leicester 1: Victory beyond reach for The Toffees at Goodison Park

Everton were held to 1-1 draw by Leicester down on Wednesday at Goodison Park. Everton were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run, following a 1-0 victory against Manchester United. Leicester were beaten 2-1 in the previous match against Newcastle United. After today’s result, Everton are currently 17th with 29 points from 18 matches, while Leicester sit in 9th, with 41 points from 18.

The first half of the game started favourably for Leicester, with an early goal from Harvey Barnes in the 5th minute, finalising the first half 0-1.

Everton took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Richarlison just before the final whistle. The game ended 1-1.

For Everton, Dele Alli and Salomon Rondon, came on for Allan and Demarai Gray. Leicester brought on Ademola Lookman, Patson Daka and Daniel Amartey, to replace Harvey Barnes, Kelechi Iheanacho and Nampalys Mendy.

There were bookings for Richarlison, Yerry Mina and Dele Alli from Everton. For Leicester, Patson Daka saw yellow.

Leicester and Everton will next play at home to Aston Villa and Crystal Palace respectively.
