Everton 0-1 Chelsea: The Toffees slip to disappointing home loss to The Blues

Chelsea made a fine start in the new Premier League campaign with win against Everton. Today’s result, Everton and Chelsea currently occupy 16th and 6th spots in the league, with 0 points and 3 points respectively after 1 match.

Chelsea started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Jorginho found the net just before halftime and managed to see out the first half 1-0. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the match ended 1-0.

Substitutions for Everton included Mason Holgate, Dele Alli and Ruben Vinagre for Ben Godfrey, Dwight McNeil and Yerry Mina, repectively. Chelsea brought on Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic, Armando Broja, Marc Cucurella and Conor Gallagher, to replace Ben Chilwell, Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Kalidou Koulibaly and Jorginho.

There were bookings for Yerry Mina, Vitaliy Mykolenko and Mason Holgate from Everton. For Chelsea, Reece James and Marc Cucurella saw yellow.

In the second round of action in the Premier League Everton will travel to play Aston Villa and Chelsea will play Tottenham Hotspur at home.
