Everton 2 – Brentford 3: Visitors at Goodison Park secure victory

Brentford strolled past Everton with a 3-2 win on Sunday at Goodison Park. Both Everton and Brentford arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Everton had been hopeful of continuing their run after winning their previous two matches in the competition. The most recent was against the Leicester City away (2-1), the other to Chelsea at home (1-0). Brentford, on the other hand, were able to continue their winning streak after a 3-0 win against Southampton in their last match. As it stands, Everton are in 16th place on the table and has 36 points while Brentford sit in 11th with 46 points after 37 matches.
The Toffees dominated the first half, thanks to Dominic Calvert-Lewin finding the net at the 10 minute mark. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from Seamus Coleman at the 37 minute mark, brought The Bees level. Everton in turn, then responded just before half-time increasing their lead with an effort from Richarlison to see out the first half 2-1.
Brentford continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with Yoane Wissa finding the net at the 62 minute mark. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Rico Henry, 64 minutes in with a final score of 3-2.
Both managers used the full entitlement. For Everton, Demarai Gray, Jonjoe Kenny and Salomon Rondon, came on for Anthony Gordon, Andre Gomes and Seamus Coleman, Brentford replaced Vitaly Janelt, Pelenda Da Silva and Mads Roerslev Rasmussen with Mads Bech Sorensen, Kristoffer Ajer and Yoane Wissa.
The referee booked Mads Bech Sorensen, Christian Norgaard and Kristoffer Ajer for Brentford and Jarrad Branthwaite and Salomon Rondon saw the red card, for Everton.
