Palace 1 – Watford 0: The Eagles see off visitors at Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace beats Watford 1-0 on Saturday at Selhurst Park. Palace were looking to continue their run, following a 2-1 victory against Southampton. Watford lost 2-1 in the last match they played against Burnley. After today’s result, Palace and Watford currently occupy 9th and 19th spots in the table, with 44 points and 22 points respectively after 36 matches.
The Eagles started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to Wilfried Zaha giving Palace the lead, 31 minutes in. The score at half time was 1-0. The second half ended with little further action at either end and goalless.
As for substitutions, for Palace, Jeffrey Schlupp, Tyrick Mitchell and Jean-Philippe Mateta, came on for Conor Gallagher, Marc Guehi and Wilfried Zaha, Watford brought on Ken Sema, Adam Masina and William Troost-Ekong, to replace Tom Cleverley, Emmanuel Dennis and Samir.
The referee booked Will Hughes and Michael Olise from Palace. Watford had the worst of it though, with Hassane Kamara and Joshua King seeing yellow, and Hassane Kamara (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.
Palace will next travel to Aston Villa, while Watford will face Leicester City at home.
