Palace 2-1 Leeds: Eze gets the job done for the Eagles

Crystal Palace’s 2-1 win over Leeds United on Sunday, was hard fought at Selhurst Park. Palace were hoping to get something from this game after losing 2-1 to Chelsea in their previous fixture. Leeds, meanwhile, were struggling for form following a draw in their last match. both teams are now on 9 points and occupy 15th and 14th places respectively after 10 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Leeds, when Pascal Struijk gave them the lead in the 10th minute. However, their lead was short-lived, as Odsonne Edouard equalised for Palace, at 24 minutes. The first half ended 1-1.

The Eagles rallied after this and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Eberechi Eze on the 76 minute mark, seing the match finish 2-1.

Substitutions for Palace included Tyrick Mitchell, Luka Milivojevic, Will Hughes and Jean-Philippe Mateta for Jordan Ayew, Cheick Oumar Doucoure, Michael Olise and Odsonne Edouard, respectively. Leeds replaced Crysencio Summerville, Mateusz Klich, Luke Ayling and Joe Gelhardt with Patrick Bamford, Brendan Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen and Marc Roca.

There were bookings for Cheick Oumar Doucoure, Marc Guehi and Michael Olise from Palace, and Pascal Struijk, Rasmus Kristensen and Robin Koch, for Leeds.

Palace will next play Leicester City away, with Leeds facing Arsenal at home.
