Palace 1 – Burnley 1: The Eagles can only manage draw at home

On Saturday, Palace and Burnley were held to a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park. Palace were looking forward to meeting again, following a previous defeat to Chelsea. Burnley, on the other hand, were coming from a 3-0 win against Brighton & Hove Albion. After today’s result, Palace and Burnley currently occupy 11th and 18th spots in the table, with 30 points and 21 points respectively after 27 matches.
Palace dominated the first half, with Jeffrey Schlupp giving The Eagles the lead in the 9th minute. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Luka Milivojevic equalised for The Clarets just before half-time, which saw the first half end 1-1. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 1-1.
For Palace, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Cheikhou Kouyate, came on for Luka Milivojevic and Jeffrey Schlupp. Burnley brought on Ashley Westwood, Charlie Taylor and Ashley Barnes, to replace Jack Cork, Erik Pieters and Jay Rodriguez.
The referee booked two players from Burnley, Josh Brownhill and James Tarkowski.
Palace will next play Wolverhampton Wanderers away, with Burnley facing Chelsea at home.
