Crystal Palace 1-1 Brentford: The Eagles pegged back after Zaha worldly

On Tuesday, Palace and Brentford were held to a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park. Palace were looking forward to meeting again after losing 4-2 to Manchester City in their last match. Brentford are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. After today’s result, Palace are in 12th place, with 5 points from 5 matches, while Brentford sit in 8th, with 6 points from 5.

After a goalless first half, Palace fought back the second half, with a goal from Wilfried Zaha at the 59 minute mark. In the end though, their celebrations were kept brief, as Yoane Wissa equalised for The Bees just before the final whistle. The final result, Palace 1, Brentford 1.

Substitutions for Palace included Odsonne Edouard, Luka Milivojevic, Jordan Ayew and Tyrick Mitchell for Jean-Philippe Mateta, Jeffrey Schlupp, Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise, repectively. Brentford brought on Mikkel Damsgaard, Frank Onyeka, Pelenda Da Silva, Yoane Wissa and Saman Ghoddos for Shandon Baptiste, Bryan Mbeumo, Keane Lewis-Potter, Mathias Jensen and Aaron Hickey.

There were bookings for Cheick Oumar Doucoure from Palace, and Aaron Hickey and Ivan Toney, for Brentford.

Palace will next travel to Newcastle United, while Brentford will face Leeds United at home.
