Burnley 0 – Chelsea 4: Defeat for The Clarets at the hands of visitors

Burnley fell to a home defeat at the hands of Chelsea at Turf Moor on Saturday. Burnley wanted to improve their league standing following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace in their previous game. Chelsea were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur. As the table looks today, Burnley are in 18th place, with 21 points from 28 matches, while Chelsea sit in 3rd, with 53 points from 28.
It was an impressive opening from The Blues, with Reece James opening the rout just before half-time to see out the first half 0-1.
Chelsea started the second half with an intensified spirit, with a goal from Kai Havertz, at 53 minutes. The momentum was now with Chelsea, who then scored again through a second effort from Kai Havertz at the 55 minute mark to establish a 3-0. However they weren’t finished yet and Christian Pulisic made it 4-0, at 69 minutes to make it 4-0.
For Burnley, Maxwel Cornet and Ashley Barnes, came on for Jay Rodriguez and Wout Weghorst. Chelsea brought on Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mateo Kovacic and Timo Werner, to replace N’Golo Kante, Reece James and Mason Mount.
The referee booked Ashley Barnes and Ashley Westwood for Burnley.
Burnley will next travel to Brentford, while Chelsea will face Newcastle United at home.
