Brighton 0 – Spurs 2: The Seagulls beaten at home by The Lilywhites

Tottenham Hotspur defeat Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 on Wednesday at the Amex Stadium. Both Brighton and Spurs came from defeats in their previous league games. Brighton were hoping to get something from this game, following a previous defeat to Liverpool. Spurs had lost their previous match against Manchester United. Following today’s result, Brighton are in 13th place, with 33 points from 16 matches, while Spurs sit in 7th, with 48 points from 16.
Spurs started the game well, with Cristian Romero giving The Lilywhites the lead in the 37th minute, finishing the first half 0-1.
Spurs continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Harry Kane, at 57 minutes. They managed to see the game out with a clean sheet and a final score of 2-0.
Both managers used the full entitlement. For Brighton, Danny Welbeck, Tariq Lamptey and Jakub Moder, came on for Yves Bissouma, Pascal Gross and Joel Veltman, Spurs brought on Lucas Moura, Emerson and Steven Bergwijn, to replace Heung Min Son, Matt Doherty and Dejan Kulusevski.
There were bookings for Neal Maupay and Joel Veltman from Brighton, and Sergio Reguilon and Cristian Romero, for Spurs.
Brighton will next travel to Manchester City, while Spurs will face West Ham United at home.
