Brighton 0-0 Newcastle: Defences on top on afternoon of frustration at the Amex

Brighton were held to 0-0 draw by Newcastle down on Saturday at the Amex Stadium. Both Brighton and Newcastle arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Brighton were looking to pick up points after winning last match. Newcastle, on the other hand, were looking to extend their winning run after a 2-0 victory against Nottingham Forest. After today’s result, both teams are on 4 points and occupy 5th and 3rd places respectively after 2 matches.

Both coaches used all available substitutions. Substitutions for Brighton included Enock Mwepu, Kaoru Mitoma and Tariq Lamptey for Adam Lallana, Solly March and Leandro Trossard, repectively, Newcastle brought on Jacob Murphy, Sean Longstaff and Chris Wood, to replace Allan Saint-Maximin, Joseph Willock and Callum Wilson.
