Brighton 4 – Man United 0: Brighton blaze past The Red Devils at the Amex Stadium

Brighton & Hove Albion beat Manchester United with a thumping 4-0 victory on Saturday at the Amex Stadium. Brighton were looking to pick up points, following a 3-0 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Man U had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Chelsea. After today’s result, Brighton are currently 9th with 47 points from 36 matches, while Man U sit in 6th, with 58 points from 36.

Brighton started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with Moisés Caicedo opening the rout, 15 minutes in, seeing out the first half 1-0.

Brighton started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with an early goal from Marc Cucurella in the 49th minute. The Seagulls looked to have the game under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Pascal Gross at the 57 minute mark to establish a 3-0. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Leandro Trossard, 60 minutes in to make it 4-0.

Both coaches used allfull available substitutions. For Brighton, Adam Webster, Tariq Lamptey and Neal Maupay, came on for Alexis MacAllister, Solly March and Leandro Trossard, Man U brought on Fred, Edinson Cavani and Harry Maguire to replace Nemanja Matic, Anthony Elanga and Juan Mata.

The referee booked Cristiano Ronaldo and Diogo Dalot for Man U.

Man U and Brighton will next play away to Crystal Palace and Leeds United respectively.
